Progress, effort, and inspo

Hey Reader !

This week, I’ve got a few helpful and hopefully inspirational posts for you to continue our Strength Training 101 series.

We rounded out our chat on how heavy to lift with how to rate your lifting effort so that you know how to progress your program. I also covered how to progress your lifting without increasing the weight because sometimes this just isn’t possible. You can check out those posts here:

While not exactly part of the 101 series, I also posted about my current weight loss journey. I’ve been struggling with my weight for the last couple years as a symptom of PMOS and perimenopause. I shared the top 4 things I did that had the biggest impact on finally making progress and losing close to 20 lbs and over 3 inches of body fat off my waist.

I share this video because for a long time I felt like my body was hijacked and there was nothing I could do about it. I’m slowly and steadily getting back to the strongest version of me with just a few shifts. My hope is it helps you get some momentum too if you’re experiencing something similar. I’ll continue to share my progress with you if you’re interested!

The last post I have for you went up last night, and covers the 5 exercises in every effective program for getting strong and building muscle. Check this one out to see if your current workout program stacks up!

Hey Reader, Let’s get into this week: The Warm Up This work week was insane. I finally got my first workout in yesterday (Wednesday) — and sometimes it be like that. I missed two workouts earlier in the week after getting stuck in front of a computer for a week and a half straight. I eased into yesterday's session, and it felt so good to move my body again. Picking up where you left off counts as a win. This Week's Lift: Home vs. Gym Workouts One of the most common questions I get from women...

Hey Reader, Back in college, I used to spend 2+ hours in the gym almost every day. My only goal: burn as many calories as possible.
